Meet Bev

I have enjoyed a varied career, working with horses and in photography, before discovering my true passion: supporting people at the end of life.

My journey into end-of-life care began when I started volunteering at my local hospice, St Wilfrid’s in Chichester. Having had no previous experience in this area, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Rather than finding a place of sadness, I discovered a community filled with warmth, compassion, dignity, and often laughter.

I witnessed patients arriving frightened, exhausted, and in pain, only to find comfort, relief, and the support they needed to begin living fully again. I also saw the difference this made to their families, allowing them to focus on being loved ones rather than advocates trying to navigate a healthcare system under increasing pressure.

My volunteer role eventually led to employment at the hospice, where I went on to manage the Clinical Administration Team. During this time, I qualified as an End-of-Life Doula, driven by a desire to deepen my understanding of how people can be supported within their own communities and homes.

In 2024, I left the hospice to take on a hands-on care role, wanting to experience another side of end-of-life support and explore how I could offer more practical care to my future clients. I quickly discovered that I loved this aspect of the work just as much, finding it deeply rewarding to provide direct support to individuals and their families.

Alongside my client work, I founded a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, the End of Life Network, and established a local network for independent end-of-life service providers. I am passionate about improving access to support and helping people understand the choices available to them.

I firmly believe that everyone deserves a well-supported end of life, in the place of their choosing, with their wishes and values at the centre of every decision. My role is to provide guidance, practical support, and companionship throughout that journey, becoming involved as much or as little as each individual and family would like.

If you are looking for support, I would be delighted to have a no-obligation conversation to explore how I may be able to help.
