I am Bev and I live just South of Chichester in West Sussex with my partner Steve. I have had a varied career including working with horses and as a wedding photographer. It was when I began volunteering at St Wilfrid’s Hospice in 2009 I started to realise how much I love working with older people and those approaching the end of their lives. I remained at St Wilfrid’s, ultimately as Clinical Admin Manager until June 2024, when I left to further my love of working more directly with people.
I have 18 years experience providing personal home support and working in a care home. I really love getting to know people and providing individual care to meet their particular needs. I am flexible in my approach and bring my personal values of kindness, honesty and empathy into every situation.
I have been a volunteered in various roles including as a driver with Contact the Elderly and as a photographer with Remember my Baby. This is an amazing charity that provides family portrait photography to families who have experienced a stillbirth or the death of a baby soon after birth to allow them to have some lasting memories of their child.
I have trained as an End of Life Doula with Living Well Dying Well and I am certified by Living Well Dying Well to assist people with Advance Care Planning. Steve and I set up and run the Chichester Death Café and I have also spoken on the subject of death and dying as part of the Talks at Six Initiative in Chichester. In 2025, I launched the End of Life Network CIC aimed at improving communication, collaboration and compassion around end of life care.
I adore meeting people – it gives me the greatest satisfaction to help make someone’s day a little better or to remove the fear that surrounds death and dying and to help people to live well knowing that they have made their wishes known.
