Personal Assistance

For just 5 clients at any time, I offer a bespoke personal assistance service aimed at maintaining independence and quality of life for older people. This service is flexible and adaptable to meet your needs throughout the year. Working with a small client base allows me to really get to know you and your family and to offer personal, reliable, fun and adaptable assistance.

I offer a wide variety of services including but not limited to:
– Home support – cleaning, tidying, decluttering, filing, technology and communication
– Enrichment – assistance to enjoy hobbies, attend social events, gaining access to the community
– Personal support – showering or bathing assistance, cover for regular carers or family, respite support
– Mobility support – attending appointments, shopping trips, family gatherings
– Future planning, creating wishes and preferences documents, ADRT, funeral planning
– End of Life Doula support, supporting the client and family through the end of life phase.

This service is suitable for you if you require:
– Flexibility around times of visits and services offered
– Consistency in the person you will be seeing
– Someone who is not going to be clock watching to get off to another visit
– A known cost each month with the ability to take holiday* or to add additional hours

This service does not provide fixed time daily personal care services. Visits are routinely Monday to Friday with occasional weekend visits possible by arrangement within the same contract terms (subject to availability)

Cost
The cost of this service is £600 per month based on an average of 5 hours per week. Any additional hours will be charged at £25 per hour. Any third party costs are payable by the client. Mileage for any journeys required as part of the visit is charged at 45p per mile.

Terms and Conditions

Holiday
I take 5 weeks annual leave per year including one week over Christmas and New Year. You do not pay anything while I am on leave. I will give at least 4 months notice of any annual leave dates so you can arrange alternative cover if needed.

You can take 2 weeks holiday per 6 month contract period at no cost to you. I ask for one month notice of any holiday period.

Payment
Payment is made in advance each month with any adjustments for holiday within the month being deducted from the monthly fee. Additional hours will be added to the following month’s invoice. At the commencement of service an additional one month retainer is due. This covers the required one month notice required at the end of the service.

Commitment
The first month is a trial on both sides after which if we are both happy, you agree to a minimum 6 month commitment. After 6 months, you can cancel with one month’s written notice which will be covered by the retainer paid at the start of the service. Cancellation with less than one month notice will result in the forfeit of the retainer to compensate loss of earnings. In the event of the death of a client or unexpected and permanent admission to a nursing home, the retainer will be repaid in full plus 50% of any balance paid for the current month. In the event of death of the client, this will be paid to a person nominated by the client at the commencement of the service. If either party is not happy after the initial one month trial, the retainer will be repaid in full.

Sickness
In the event that sickness prevents me working, you have the choice to carry over hours to another week/month or a refund of the hours missed based on a rate of £25 per hour. In the event that you are temporarily admitted to hospital or a nursing home, you can either use your holiday or pay a retainer of 50% of the monthly amount to retain my services for up to one month.
